TITLE : Truck Driver (Grounds)
FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS :
Completion of high school and some experience in grounds maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Operates a truck to haul such items as maintenance materials, trash, freight, furniture and passengers.
Follows a routine delivery route and / or follows detailed oral or written instructions.
Performs grounds maintenance duties such as trimming, pruning, raking, shoveling and hand digging to complete work assignment.
Possesses knowledge of various types and characteristics of grounds maintenance materials and equipment.
Possesses working knowledge of safe road practices, proper loading methods and general knowledge of the techniques, methods, and safety precautions of the grounds trade.
Makes minor repairs and service to trucks.
Attends and successfully completes all training activities as required to improve ability and knowledge in performance of work duties.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
The employee must be able to demonstrate the following physical demands to safely andproductively perform the essential functions of the Grounds position. The job requires
constant standing / walking on level and uneven terrain, work below waist level, and material handling / tool use; frequent work form waist to chest level; and occasional climbing, hand / foot control use, and work above chest level. The employee must be able to lift / carry 25 lbs constantly, 50 lbs frequently and 80 lbs occasionally. The employee must be able to exert up to 100 lbs overhead and 75 lbs / force at knuckle to waist level. The employee must be able to work in confined spaces requiring entry to 24' x 24' spaces occasionally. The employee must be able to tolerate the above job demands on a regular schedule and as assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Must acquire Class A CDL within 90 days of employment when requested
