QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree certification required. Possess or be eligible for North Carolina certification. Minimum of seven years successful teaching experience. Experience in coaching preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and related curriculum programs. Possess ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of instructional strategies to include digital resources which support inquiry and student-centered learning, professional best practices. Possess outstanding facilitation, presentation and professional development skills. Knowledge and experience with adult learning.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction
JOB GOAL: Serves as a member of the K-12 Curriculum & Instruction team and works to align district and building goals to accelerate student achievement. This role will work closely with Professional Learning Communities (PLC), instructional leadership teams, and classroom teachers to deepen, reflect and enhance the implementation of high-quality learning experiences for all students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates the vision and requirements of an effective instructional program to include the use of digital resources to the appropriate stakeholders while utilizing relevant and current research and other data-informed performance measures and outcomes.
Facilitates the use of district resources, evidence-based high yield-strategies, and appropriate formative assessment methods.
Models a variety of high-yield instructional strategies, and assessment tools to assist teachers in integrating blended learning in all content areas for all learners.
Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of instructional strategies to include blended learning, inquiry and student-centered learning, professional best practices, and knowledge or summative and formative assessment tools.
Promotes the use of instructional tools and practices, consistent with district initiatives and approved resources, that support the diverse needs of students to improve creative and innovative student learning.
Participates in observations for professional growth and collaborates with other educators to mentor and support professional growth throughout the school learning community.
Applies professional skills to investigate, apply, and share new research on digital tools, resources, pedagogy, curriculum, and other relevant topics to the professional learning community.
Evaluates student data in support of effective school improvement planning.
Establishes Coaching Cycles and Data Cycles to support all teachers.
Leads collaborative groups of teachers to implement effective content instructions are considered, current research on effective practices and examining student work.
Serves as a member of the Instructional Coaches Network by collaborating with other instructional leaders.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
Must have auditory acuity to a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions.
Must have visual acuity to read and analyze computer screen, documents, and correspondence.
Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken and written word to individuals as well as large groups of people.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Muse be technology literate in using Microsoft Windows 2003 (or later version of Windows), Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Google Suites and multimedia tools including e-mail and the Internet.
