TITLE: Licensure Specialist Clerk VI
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years extensive experience in an office environment with responsibility for complex duties. Associates degree in related field preferred. Working knowledge of PC applications (word processing, database, spreadsheets). Exemplary organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews licensed employment applications and supporting documents to verify if qualified for NC
licensure.
Provides licensure information to applicants and retirees.
Processes all licenses issued by the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
Processes staff actions for new and rehired licensed educators.
Advises educator of options to complete license and testing requirements.
Submits lateral entry/provisional/validation license applications and graduate pay requests electronically to NCDPI.
Submits applications for lateral entry/provisional licensure plans to the Regional Alternative Licensure Center.
Maintains and monitors all licensure files and sends appropriate notification of licensure status.
Enters license information for all new employees, including any renewal activities.
Maintains and monitors renewal activities and submits renewal addenda to individuals/LEAs upon request.
Processes electronically five-year renewal license applications, SP-1 extensions and provisional renewals for current employees.
Monitors and reviews NCDPI licensure policies and updates.
Communicates with NCDPI regarding any license questions/issues, when necessary.
Monitors federal No Child Left Behind (ESSA) annual reports as required by NCDPI.
Informs and advises principals of noncompliance personnel (i.e. non-HQ).
Coordinates annual Job Fairs.
Creates visual presentations and forms to aid with certain projects that the Human Resources Department sponsors (i.e. CCS Teacher Job Fair, PANC Regional Job Fair).
Updates forms and memoranda related to licensing.
Communicates with other Human Resources personnel, principals, and individual licensees regarding licensing matters.
Works closely with the Beginning Teacher Office.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data.
Auditory acuity at a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions.
Visual acuity to read and analyze computer screen, documents, and correspondence.
Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word.
