Job Summary :
To perform a variety of specialized departmental clerical duties and responsibilities within the assigned department.
Essential Job Functions :
- Opens, sorts, date stamps and delivers mail.
- Sorts, copies and / or files correspondence and documents within the department.
- Greets and assists public by taking or providing information by telephone.
- Prepares and processes required department documents, forms and reports as required.
- Updates information to the computer database.
- Operates computer, typewriter, adding machine, copier and other office equipment as needed.
- Compiles data within department for completion of reports.
- Maintains filing system for department; updates files, pulls information as needed.
- Operates basic office equipment including a typewriter, computer, phone system, fax machine, and copier.
- Small Games of Chance and Bingo Law coordinator- responsible for receiving and reviewing applications, deploying judgement on the qualifications of application before passing on to the Treasurer, processing &issuance of SGOC & Bingo Licenses. To include keeping accurate records of expiring and renewing licenses, proactive outreach to organizations to alert them to expiring licenses, provide guidance to applicants, and proactively informing organizations of material changes within the law.
- Receives / Records (in Lawson) monies from other County Departments for deposit by Office.
- Orders Office Supplies & process’s AP invoices thru County’s Lawson Accounting System.
- Over-the-Counter Sales of numerous Licenses that the office is required to Issue to include dog, fishing, hunting, boating, & sportsmen firearms permits. To include a thorough understanding of the State laws affecting each program.
- Maintains Treasurer’s Office filing system.
- In absence of 2nd Deputy, summarizes and reconciles Daily License Sales and prepares daily deposit.
- Act as secondary coordinator for the hotel tax to include knowledge of the ordinance governing the program, the internal record keeping, and processing of deposits.
- Attends meetings and / or training sessions as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
