Join our dynamic library team, where you'll connect the community with innovative programs, diverse materials, and exceptional services. In this role, you'll make a meaningful impact by empowering the community with access to essential library services and resources, such as computers and laptops, research tools, printing, copying, faxing and support for the community's diverse needs.
- Staffs a public services point
- Performs proactive reference at the service desk
- Assists customers with information and technology resources
- Performs basic troubleshooting of library equipment and trains others in the use of resources and equipment
- Assists customers with self-services checkout and account information at Circulation desk to include cash, check, and credit card transactions
- Knowledge of library procedures, collection management, library systems and services
- Knowledge of readers' advisory methods and sources
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with co-workers and general public
- Ability and knowledge to provide basic library information services and other customer assistance
- Ability to instruct customers on use of equipment, public computer reservation software, and self-checkout as needed and where applicable
- Ability to use computers, competently manipulate keyboard and spell accurately
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public
