Plans, coordinates, and presents age-appropriate in-person and virtual programs for library customers ages birth through age 18Assists customers (of all ages) in person and by phone at various public services desks where information and readers’ advisory services is requiredStaffs a public service pointPerforms basic troubleshooting of library equipment and trains others in the use of resources and equipmentAssists customers with information and technology resourcesParticipates in collection maintenance, including weeding and discarding items
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Knowledge of library procedures, collection management, library systems and servicesKnowledge of readers' advisory methods and sourcesAbility to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with co-workers and general publicAbility and knowledge to provide basic library information services and other customer assistanceAbility to instruct customers on use of equipment, public computer reservation software, and self-checkout as needed and where applicableAbility to use computers, competently manipulate keyboard and spell accuratelyAbility to deal tactfully and courteously with the publicConditions of Employment: A formal transcript will be required.
