Veterinary Assistant

Lebanon, TN Cumberland Creek Mobile Veterinary Service is looking for a Veterinary Assistant or Technician. Licensed/Registered Technicians preferred but not required. 1 year of experience required working with small animals (dogs and cats). Must be willing to work with large animals too but it is not the focus of our practice. Work is performed in a mobile clinic and demand has been exceptional for pet and client needs.

Skills you may already have or will learn include:
-Knowledge of routine preventative care

-Ability to educate clients in the exam rooms on wellness care as well as give post-op discharge
instructions, medication instructions, and discuss owners' concerns
-Safe animal restraint
-Radiographic positioning knowledge
-Ability to give injections IV, SQ and IM
-Ability to draw blood from multiple locations on cats and dogs
-Ability to place IV catheters
-Knowledge and confidence in anesthesia monitoring, induction and recovery
-Knowledge and confidence with surgical prep, procedure and post-op care

Job Type: Full-time or Part Time
Pay: $15.00 -$22.00 per hour
We are a small business and not offering full-time benefits at this time. It is something we will be offering in the future. We have increased our hourly rate to help bridge the gap of benefits.
Routine Schedule:
 10 to 12 hour work shifts
 Day shift only
 No Holidays
 Monday to Friday
 No weekends
 No on-call service for emergency after-hours or on the weekend
 If we have a day-time emergency and it is near closing hours, you will receive additional funds to help
assist the doctor.
COVID-19 considerations:
New employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a medical exemption from their
doctor.
Ability to Commute/Relocate:

 Lebanon TN Area – we are based on the Smith and Wilson County Line: 37090: Reliably commute to our starting point or live near the area.
Experience:
 small animal: 1 year (Preferred)
 large animal: 1 year (Preferred) but not required
Shift Availability:
 Day Shift only Monday - Friday
Work Location will be Remotely:
 Will be mobile and commute to people’s home.
 Large truck, horse trailer, and/or trailer towing experience would be preferred since you will be
responsible for driving the Mercedes Sprinter at times
