Utilization Review Coordinator Opportunity

Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Job Duties to include:

• Assists treatment teams in planning objectives and interventions to effectively utilize resources within length of stay. Assists in informing treatment team regarding discharges, master treatment plan and updates and requests from insurance company. Completes treatment team log and distributes to appropriate departments.
• Records and reports timeliness of assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning documentation according to established Utilization Review Program. Reviews adequacy and appropriateness of chart documentation. Provides instruction and consultation to clinical staff regarding documentation to include in-services on assigned units. Completes internal utilization review audits and reports.
• Provides ongoing communication with payors, including relevant information from patients’ records and treatment issues impacting length of stay. Negotiates with payors for extension of patient days when clinically indicated.
• Maintains and updates files on each assigned case. Assist in setting up after care appointments for assigned cases. Notifies patient care staff of deficiencies and keeps records of notifications.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of psychosocial issues, interpersonal dynamics, community resources, reimbursement climate, and treatment planning process.
• Ensures adherence to compliance training requirements by maintaining all required licenses/certifications and understands that attendance at trainings is a required condition of employment. Ensures that job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner, assesses the work area for non-compliance and notifies supervisor, senior manager, human resources representative and/or Values Line hotline, as appropriate.
• Maintains the confidential nature of all client and Organization related activities by not divulging information outside the facility, discussing information within the facility on a need-to-know basis; acknowledging policy annually by signing confidentiality statement; and by referring general inquiries to Administration.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
• Demonstrate all Service Excellence Standards and Principles.

UR Coordinator Requirements:

• Education: Masters prepared in Social Work or Licensed Registered Nurse
• Experience: Two years psychiatric experience with knowledge of psychotropic medications.
• Licenses/Certificates: Current nursing license to practice in Kentucky or master’s degree in social work
