Job Description:
- Oversee all infection control responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive health and safety services
- Maintain appropriate health records for employees under regulatory agency guidelines
- Coordinate comprehensive infection control services
- Maintain accurate records of infections of patients for required agencies
- Assist the Director of Systems & Quality Management in providing education and training needs of staff, based on requirements of TJC, OSHA, CDC, State and Federal guidelines
- Serve as a member of assigned committees
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Current HWC and CPR certifications
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of two years' experience in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide training and education
- Experience in Infection Control, Quality Assurance, and survey readiness
- Active in community networking and facilitating successful training of nursing students in a psychiatric setting
- Working knowledge of JC standards, OSHA and Commonwealth of Virginia requirements for employee training and education
