Job Description
I. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Coalition Director of Cumberland Prevention Coalition. The Program Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, direct, and manage TDMHSAS grant Scope of Services and Develop Strategic Prevention Framework per state contract.
Additionally, the Program Coordinator assists the Coalition Director in the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the organization and the daily execution of assignments necessary to provide quality services to Cumberland Prevention Coalition membership and our youth. The Program Coordinator assumes the operational responsibilities of the organization in the absence of the Coalition Director.
He/She is expected to operate independently on assignments and activities consistent with the mission and philosophy of Cumberland Prevention Coalition.
II. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct planning and prepare youth coalition goals and objectives for Cumberland Prevention Coalition’s technical assistance and training services.
2. Assist the Coalition Director in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services for Cumberland Prevention Coalition members.
3. Conduct research and information gathering on new projects, programs, and funding sources available to augment and support Cumberland Prevention Coalition technical assistance programs and services as well as developing new programs, which support Cumberland Prevention Coalition vision and mission.
4. Develop and conduct training for prevention professionals, practitioners, and coalition members.
5. Assist with staff/board professional development and training.
6. Coordinate the implementation of substance abuse prevention environmental strategies within the grantee’s communities to address substance use among youth ages 12-25 years old youth in Cumberland County, TN as outlined in the grant SCOPE of services.
7. Attend state/national seminars and conferences to communicate trends to local task forces and develop technical assistance programs/services which address those trends.
8. Manage communication with state prevention team.
9. Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by the Coalition Director.
III. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred or one year’s experience in public health, education, sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, community development, public administration, or closely related field.
IV. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Available for some evening and weekend travel.
Access to personal transportation for statewide travel.
Available at least 40 hours per week.
