Graduate Assistant for the Cumberland University Childhood Physical Activity and Development Lab
Position Title: Graduate Assistant for the Cumberland University Childhood Physical Activity and Development Lab
Hours: 20 hours per week minimum for term of graduate program
Supervisor: Dr. George Walker, Associate Professor of Physical Education and Athletic Coaching; Director of the Cumberland University Childhood Physical Activity and Development Laboratory
Compensation: Tuition Waiver
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be accepted to or enrolled in one of the following graduate programs at Cumberland University
- Master of Arts in Teaching emphasis in Physical Education,
- Master of Arts in Education emphasis Physical Education & Physical Activity Leadership
- Master of Arts in Education emphasis Athletic Coaching
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a field of education, Kinesiology, or Exercise Science
- Available to work weekdays, weeknights, or weekends
- Must be accepted to or enrolled in a graduate program at Cumberland University

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability and willingness to work with individuals with special needs
- Assist with creation and coordination for teaching of students of Cedars Preparatory Academy
- Assist with research for Cumberland University Childhood Physical Activity and Development Lab
- Assist with recruitment of undergraduate programs in physical education and athletic coaching
- Assist with recruitment of graduate program in Master of Arts in Teaching emphasis in Physical Education
- Assist with recruitment of graduate programs in Master of Arts in Education emphases of Physical Education & Physical Education Leadership, Athletic Coaching, and Professional Studies
- Assist with Students Helping Achieve Physical Fitness and Education (SHAPE) club
- Assist with tutoring students for Praxis in Physical Education
- Photograph events and edit pictures for marketing purposes
- Other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor
