Cumberland University is looking to hire one (1) Graduate Assistant - Sports Performance Coach
ANTICIPATED START DATE:
- Fall 2025 - July 21-28 preferred (can be flexible)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implementation of training programs for Baseball, Softball, Track, and other assigned sports
- Assisting with training for Football
- Cleaning and maintenance of weight room and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
- 2-year Commitment
COMPENSATION:
- Full tuition waiver
- On-Campus Housing covered

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Must gain acceptance into either the Sports Management or Sport and Exercise Science graduate program at Cumberland University (GRE test scores required).
- Previous Collegiate Sports Performance Coaching experience (internships)
- Must possess or working towards a Strength & Conditioning certification (CSCS) and CPR/First Aid certification
- Must have a 3.0 or above overall GPA
DESIRED SKILLS:
- USAW Certification - Experience coaching the Olympic lifts
- Experience with Football, Baseball, Soccer, and/or Women’s sports preferred
- Collegiate athletic experience a plus
- Military service a plus
- Experience using the Teambuildr Training platform a plus
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Record keeping and reporting skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Basic data analysis skills preferred
