Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Faculty member must have:
- Expertise in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
- The ability to teach cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills required by the Psychiatric Mental Health nursing specialty
- Ability to work independently while adhering to high expectations and academic standards for teaching
- Fluency or ability to learn a variety of educational software programs
- Ability to provide student support and guidance throughout the twelve-month calendar year for registration and advising to ensure the academic success of students
- Competency-based education knowledge
- Excellent professional communications skills
- Excellent oral, written and listening skills
The successful applicant will have
- 2 – 5 years minimum in Psychiatric/Mental Health clinical setting, preferably Psychiatric/Mental Health nursing experience is current or very recent
- 1-3 years of experience teaching in an academic or equivalent educational setting such as clinical teaching in healthcare settings
- Strong clinical nursing skills in medical/surgical nursing in addition to mental health nursing
- Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment is helpful but not required
- Ability to provide diverse instructional strategies including simulation
