The Cumberland Valley School District, a leader in public education in Pennsylvania, seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Mountain View Middle School Principal. As the educational leader of the school, the MVMS Principal is responsible for the administration and supervision of the school in a manner that creates the optimum learning environment necessary to promote the educational development of each student.
The successful candidate for this position will supervise, coordinate, and schedule all professional and support personnel working in the middle school. While candidates can present themselves with a variety of backgrounds, all must possess either a Pennsylvania K-12 Principal certification or Secondary Principal certification and a Master’s degree. Previous experience as a building administrator is required; previous experience as an administrator at the secondary level is preferred.

- Creating, promoting, and sustaining a dynamic digital-age learning culture that provides a rigorous, relevant, engaging education for all students.
- Collecting, monitoring, and analyzing data that contribute to increasing the academic achievement of all students, particularly students in historically under performing groups.
- Ensuring consistency in teaching and learning.
- Utilizing professional staff fully for what they are hired to do, teach and support students.
- Allowing for acceleration, enrichment, and remediation for all students.
- Providing real-time academic, social, and emotional supports for all students.
- Providing for traditional, blended, and fully on-line digital learning.
- Managing the depth and breadth of the academic program described by utilizing innovative scheduling and educational delivery systems that increase the instructional capacity of the facility.
- Communicating effectively in speaking, writing, and listening while efficiently using social media.
- Utilize student performance data, attendance records, and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making processes, identify areas for improvement, and monitor progress towards school-wide goals and objectives.
- Prioritize improving academic performance across all subjects and grade levels through curriculum development, teacher training, and data-driven instructional strategies.
- Foster a positive and supportive school climate by effectively managing behavior and working collaboratively with students.
- Strengthen partnerships with parents, families, and community organizations to support student learning, address concerns, and foster a sense of belonging and involvement in school activities.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers and staff to enhance instructional practices, integrate technology effectively, and stay updated with best educational practices.
- Develop and implement comprehensive orientation programs for students transitioning from elementary to middle school and from middle to high school.
- Collaborate with feeder schools and high schools to ensure alignment of curricula, expectations, and support services, fostering continuity and coherence in students' educational experiences.
- The MVMS principal be mentored by the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education to assure a smooth transition to the school district and most importantly continuity of program for our students.
