Production Managers are responsible for directing, supervising, and controlling the day-to-day personnel related to the execution of the work related to the building of integrated manufactured products, from inception to completion. Members of our production team are an integral part of the construction & integration process, providing leadership and development for our Electricians and Technicians to ensure continued profitability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Train, manage and evaluate production team members
- Ability to assist Project Manager in preparing & updating production schedules
- Make daily schedules & plans for proper resource utilization
- Create and maintain daily reports, timesheets, safety, and accident reports
- Coordinate and monitor the installation progress
- Plan, organize and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work / executed purchase order agreement
- Oversee the implementation and compliance with quality assurance and quality control programs
- Coordinate work with Project Manager, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of a product
- Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards
- Review submittals, budgets, schedules, and all other aspects necessary for a successful product order / program
- Maintain and foster contacts with consultants, contractors, vendors, and material suppliers
- Serve as an interface between internal clients, including the IM Engineering, Operations, Safety, Quality and Safety teams, to facilitate interdepartmental relations and program goals
- Assist with maintaining and improving existing standards and guidelines, as well as implementing industry and company best practices
- Ensure the component layouts and bill of material takeoffs comply with constructability and operability needs
- Act as a subject matter expert regarding various electrical installation activities
- Participate in production / order meetings and conference calls
- Participate in engineering, design, and production review processes as requested by Project Manager
- Interpret plans, specification, drawings, and documents related to the engineering and construction of program / product order
- Coordinate installation with subcontractors / other trades to resolve critical and time-sensitive issues
- Lead or assist with investigations, including root cause analysis as needed
- Assist Project Manager in compiling information required to submit Request for Information (RFI’s) to clients
- Assist Project Manager in addressing outstanding ‘open items’ as requested by clients
- Prepare look-ahead documents and daily/weekly progress reports
- Review and monitor production labor costs versus budgets
- Client centric focus: develop an understanding of the client’s culture, key people, and processes
- Provide guidance and direction for estimators during the pricing process in collaboration with the Pre-Construction Team
- Manage and assist program / product layout and coordination
- Assist in the implementation and compliance with quality assurance and quality control programs
- Coordinate work with Purchasing & Logistics teams to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of a product
- Resolve inter-group conflicts, program / product order conflicts and delays as required to meet production goals
- Reports to Project Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field is preferred; with previous work as Licensed Electrician / Supervisor a plus
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical or integrated construction industry, with a concentration in large commercial construction projects / programs
- Must be a Safety True Believer
- Ability to prepare, manage and accurately update production schedules (MS Project)
- Prior knowledge and understanding of the estimating process
- Exposure to ACCUBID and/or ConEst a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite required, including excel at advanced level and familiarity with MS Teams and SharePoint
- Strong customer service skills required
- Willing to travel to develop vendor relationship & conduct incremental factory inspections as required
