What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Cummins Aerospace?
Cummins Aerospace continues to grow is Quality/Inspection Team so we are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with aerospace experience. If you have solid quality inspection experience in the aerospace industry, we want to speak with you.
You will be tasked with the following responsibilities at a minimum.
*Accurately perform inspection on products for workmanship, dimensional, and visual requirements using CAD or blueprints.
*Use proper inspection methods and complex equipment (i.e. complex part set-ups and inspections,
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
*Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) per AS9102 standard, as required.
*Use and maintenance of precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth indicators).
*Ensure nonconforming material is segregated and is properly documented and controlled.
*Provide feedback to help identify root causes, as needed.
*Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding source inspection, quality issues, and inspection results.
*Communicate with engineers and auditors regarding product quality, as needed.
*Follow job traveler instructions and sign off job travelers after completion of entire batch.
*Identify and maintain traceability of parts and serial numbers.
*Handle products with care to avoid physical damage.
*Maintain inspection area clean and free from FOD.
*Assist Lead Inspector, as needed.
*Be a team player by giving and receiving help, as needed.
*Ensures proper upkeep of relevant documents, including physical and electronic filing of documentation in accordance with AS9100 Standard and procedures.
*Inspect your work and maintain quality standards.
*Go the extra mile to meet deadlines. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her.
*Perform cross-functional tasks as requested by management. Follow all company rules and policies.
*Work both individually and as part of a team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and quality
*Work and communicate in a professional manner with both internal and external personnel.
