Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. is currently seeking a professional for a full time position as Credentialing Specialist at our administrative office in Avon, Indiana.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer, the Credentialing Specialist performs essential functions pertaining to credentialing and re-credentialing providers and the organization with third party contracts. This includes verifying qualifications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
Regular and reliable attendance is necessary to perform the following essential functions of the position.
Participates in continuing education programs and in-service training consistent with internal standards or as deemed appropriate to increase personal and professional effectiveness and improve the service quality provided to the people we serve.

- Completes credentialing and re-credentialing applications for providers and the organization for third party contracts timely and accurately.
- Verify provider qualifications, including education, training, licensure, and certifications.
- Tracks and reports on the status of credentialing and re-credentialing on a routine basis.
- Communicate with providers, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies to resolve credentialing issues.
- Maintains a good working relationship with other staff members throughout the organization.
- Adherence to and promotion of the Corporate Compliance Program at Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc.
Participates in continuing education programs and in-service training consistent with internal standards or as deemed appropriate to increase personal and professional effectiveness and improve the service quality provided to the people we serve.
Education And/or Experience
- High school diploma, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in credentialing or a related field.
- Knowledge of credentialing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
