In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Promote Safety Culture : Actively demonstrate safety awareness and foster a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
- Employee Consultation : Ensure employees are consulted and involved in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures.
- Daily Operations Support : Contribute to daily health, safety, and environmental operations, providing technical support to resolve issues. Works cross-functionally, providing technical expertise, to improve hazard prevention and rick control measures, non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions, driving continual improvement within the site(s).
- Hazard and Risk Management : Lead hazard identification, environmental aspect identification, and risk assessment programs to identify improvement opportunities and compliance gaps.
- Hazard Prevention Systems : Meet targets for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex hazard prevention and control systems to reduce or eliminate risks.
- Training and Communication : Develop and lead training, skills development, and internal communications related to hazard prevention and control.
- Technical Content Management : Develop and maintain up-to-date technical content, ensuring it is controlled and available while adhering to data privacy regulations.
- Data-Driven Improvement : Evaluate site health, safety, and environmental data, legal compliance findings, and audit results to develop improvement plans using a risk-based, data-driven approach.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Implementation of Risk Controls - Selects and implements risk control methods by utilizing the hierarchy of controls to implement sustainable control measures in order to protect people by reducing overall risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
- Influence the Health, Safety and Environmental Culture - Champions positive health and safety behaviors by influencing leaders and employees to create the right environment.
- Measurement and Evaluation of Health, Safety and Environment Performance - Create relevant KPIs to track and measure performance. Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Use this information to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
- Risk Assessment - Conduct thorough assessments to identify potential hazards in the work environment. Analyze and prioritize risks based on their severity and likelihood.Select and implement appropriate control measures to reduce risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
Education/Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree in health, safety, environment, engineering or related field required. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
- Minimal to intermediate level of experience required
- 2 to 3 years' experience in HSE
