- RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be successful in this role you will need the following :
- Mechanical Design Modeling and Analysis
- Master the creation of CAD models that adhere to Cummins standards. This will enable you to perform system-level analyses like Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis effectively.
- Mechanical Design of Mechanical Systems
- Develop a deep understanding of mechanical systems to create innovative and robust design concepts that meet both Cummins and customer expectations across all lifecycle stages.
- Mechanical Design Specification
- Be proficient in creating detailed specifications, including solid models, engineering bills of materials, and drawings. Ensure these specifications meet national, international, industry, and Cummins standards.
- Product Configuration and Change Management
- Establish and maintain the integrity of product artifacts through effective configuration management. Track and communicate changes from concept to obsolescence to ensure consistency and accuracy.

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

Prefer significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Create solid modeling, layout and drawings necessary for product design of components and systems. This will include the use of CAE tools such as PTC Creo / Simulate and Windchill for drawing release packages.
Develop conceptual designs collaboratively with Project Engineers.
Perform necessary analyses for the design and manufacturing of components as systems. Such calculations will include structural component FEA, geometrical fit, tolerance stacks and component GD&T.
Establish / use good working relationships with team members, suppliers, customers as well as other internal functions or support groups.
Benchmark internal and external best practices regarding PDM, CAD & CAE.
Product design with 10 years of direct designer experience.
Strong use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and stacks.
