Quality Technician III (2nd Shift)

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician - Level III to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Morristown, TN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Supporting Engineers : By assisting engineers with production-related and inspection tasks, you'll ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
• Quality Monitoring : Your role in monitoring material quality and making necessary adjustments will help maintain the integrity of the production process.
• Documentation Maintenance : Keeping accurate records and documentation will support compliance and traceability, essential for quality assurance.
• Defect Identification : Comparing physical characteristics to technical specifications to identify defects will help in maintaining product standards.
• Conducting Tests : Performing simple tests on electrical functions, reliability, and packaging quality will ensure products meet required standards.
• Technical Reporting : Recording results and preparing technical reports will provide valuable insights for continuous improvement.
• Customer Assistance : Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data will enhance customer satisfaction and product application.
• Equipment Maintenance : Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment will keep operations running efficiently and accurately.

• Manage Quality Processes : Utilize quality tools and methods (e.g., APQP, FMEA, PPAP) to maintain high standards for products, processes, and services. Your proficiency in quality management will help prevent defects and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Lead Laboratory Management : Oversee technical resources and manage the business aspects of the laboratory. Ensuring compliance with certifications and accreditations will be crucial for maintaining the lab's credibility and performance.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Must be able to select samples from hot Forging area, select samples from Machining areas, and work on shipping and receiving dock as required.

Previous Quality Control experience and experience using measurement devices and equipment preferred.

Previous work within a manufacturing facility preferred.

Experienced using Microsoft Office products a plus.
