Position Overview
CUMULUS MEDIA | Detroit, MI has an immediate opening for News / Talk Show Producer. The ideal candidate is someone who is a local-first leader who understands story selection, the power of audio and sound along with the ability to grab the listener with compelling, fast-paced storytelling. We need someone who knows what breaking news is, how to respond to it, and most importantly, how to make our coverage shine! We are a fully staffed newsroom with all the tools you need. Now, we just need you to lead it! Social media skills (Facebook, Twitter (X), etc) are a must. You must also be willing to hit the street and report.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinates and executes all on-site logistics for daily appearances and live broadcasts
- Special assignment and long-range news planning
- Must coordinate breaking news coverage and oversee content on the web and social media
- Work with a variety of station personnel to produce a top-notch news cast twice per hour
- Ability to develop key relationships in the city and state
- Attends evening and weekend station events including client appearances, station events, etc., as needed
- Provides regular performance feedback to staff
