Electronic Media Manager
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Marketing & Communication, the Electronic Media Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all web communications and digital content-related activities at Bronx Community College. The position is responsible for the overall management of the Colleges website and social media platforms, including implementing content initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the colleges strategic goals, with primary emphasis on those related to student recruitment, alumni engagement and college advancement. You will be responsible for driving our online presence, specifically focusing on WordPress, page development, content initiatives and social media campaigns. The position has both technical and communication facets.
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.Demonstrated expertise in WordPress, including page creation, customization, and contentmanagement.Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), and best practices forcreating engaging web content.HTML & CSS knowledgeGoogle Analytics and Google Tag Manager knowledgeHigh level knowledge of SEO and web accessibility standardsKnowledge of utilizing social media for professional communicationsBasic Photoshop and photography skillsWriting and editing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesHigh level of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to effectively work with colleagues from ranging from executives to student workersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTen years of work experience with at least four years of related experience in public relations, communication, and / orjournalismBachelors degree in journalism, communications, marketing or similarPrior experience in communications and / or PR in a higher education settingStrong research and writing skills; creative and compelling narrative skills; and adaptivewriting skills for various print and digital media platformsWorking knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics, Acrobat, MailChimp, and MeltwaterStrong organization skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines while balancing timebetween editorial and PR writing work including fast turnaround on timely news and informationStrong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as a demonstratedknowledge of web and social media platforms, apps, and toolsProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding, andcomplex work environmentEffective communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to campus values of diversity, equity and inclusion.CUNY TITLE OVERVIEWManages electronic, online and multi-media communications, providing editorial, technical and production expertise.
