We are seeking an experienced registered dietitian to join our healthcare team in Shakopee. As a registered dietitian, you will work with patients/residents to identify and assess their nutritional needs, develop interventions to achieve and maintain optimal nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient's/resident's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nutritional expertise to the healthcare team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
- Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
- Interact with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
- Actively participate in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.
Requirements:
- Must have passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meet the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
- Complete 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
- Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
- Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents' rights.
- Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field.
- Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
