Key Responsibilities
- Provide nutritional expertise to the healthcare team
- Educate patients, staff, and consultants on healthy eating practices
- Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements
- Interact with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition
Requirements
- Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility
- Licensed or certified, per state requirements
- Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents' rights
- Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics
