Retail Operations Documentation Specialist

As our Retail Operations Documentation Specialist, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of Curaleaf's retail operations by creating SOPs, one-pagers, training guides, and visual workflows that keep our 150 stores aligned and empowered.
You’ll partner with District Managers, Store Leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify documentation gaps, simplify workflows, and ensure every team member—from budtenders to store managers—has access to accurate, up-to-date, and easy-to-digest information. Retail Operations Documentation Specialist

As our Retail Operations Documentation Specialist, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of Curaleaf's retail operations by creating SOPs, one-pagers, training guides, and visual workflows that keep our 150 stores aligned and empowered.
You’ll partner with District Managers, Store Leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify documentation gaps, simplify workflows, and ensure every team member—from budtenders to store managers—has access to accurate, up-to-date, and easy-to-digest information. What You’ll Do:
- Create and maintain retail documentation—including SOPs, one-pagers, checklists, FAQs, and training guides—to ensure consistent, user-friendly resources across all stores.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners like District Managers, Store Managers, and Regional Leaders to gather insights and capture accurate workflows.
- Translate complex processes into clear, visual content using tools like Canva and PowerPoint, ensuring materials are accessible to all experience levels.
- Continuously improve processes by identifying gaps or inefficiencies and working with subject matter experts to implement practical, scalable solutions.
- Ensure compliance across markets by monitoring state-specific cannabis regulations and updating documentation to reflect current requirements.
- Develop technical guides for POS systems, ecommerce platforms (like Dutchie and Sweed), and in-store hardware, keeping content current and easy to use.
- Support onboarding and training efforts by creating aligned, engaging materials that help new hires ramp up quickly and effectively.
- Manage and maintain a centralized document library, conducting regular audits to keep content accurate, relevant, and up to date.
- Engage with store teams and field leaders to gather feedback, observe documentation use in real time, and apply insights to future updates.
- Communicate progress and priorities to stakeholders through regular updates, while remaining open to feedback and iteration.
- Travel Requirements: Up to 25% or as needed to visit stores, conduct interviews, and gather requirements, in addition to occasional off-sites and team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in technical writing, process documentation, training content creation, or SOP development.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, workflows, or similar environments with multiple store locations.
- Ability to distill complex processes into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with common documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and comfort in learning new platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solutions-based approach to challenges.
- Experience in cannabis or regulated retail environments.
- Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Dutchie, Sweed), ecommerce platforms, and in-store hardware.
- Knowledge of compliance or regulatory frameworks within multi-state operations.
- Experience creating training materials and collaborating with training teams.
- Proven track record of process improvement initiatives.
