We are looking for a Professional Caregiver to join our team! You will work directly with an 83 y/o gentleman in Shrewsbury, PA, following a one-on-one care plan in his home. You will operate with a big heart, not only by providing personalized and attentive care but by building genuine relationships with those you serve. You are detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets patient needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to succeed in this role. Prior caregiving or Hospice experience is a plus. The client has one small friendly dog (poodle/lhasa also mix). He currently lives in the home with his son and daughter-in-law and gets around with his rolater.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 9am-1pm
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of chairs, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
- Care for patients by changing bed linens, light meal prep, very light house keeping, or assisting with personal care
- Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with the supervisor
- Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert, games and excellent socialization are a plus
- Give pre-measured medications
- Engage patients in exercises or other activities
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Home Health Aide program or
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year prior professional experience
- Driver’s license required
