Job Description :
We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum tenens coverage at a Trauma Level 3 facility in Western Michigan. The physician will provide emergency care to a primarily adult patient population in the emergency department (ED). This position requires no on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Emergency Department Care : Provide comprehensive emergency care, managing an average of 36 patients per shift.
- Admissions : Manage 3 admissions per shift as needed.
- Patient Assessment and Treatment : Perform evaluations, initiate treatment plans, and oversee patient care for a variety of urgent medical issues, including trauma, acute illnesses, and medical emergencies.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the support team of 2-3 ED RNs and 1 PA (Monday through Friday, 1 : 00 PM to 9 : 00 PM) to provide timely and effective patient care.
- Documentation : Use the Meditech EMR system to document all patient interactions, diagnoses, and treatments.
