Position Summary
The Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming, positive atmosphere at our community. You will serve as the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors, ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk. You’ll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supporting staff, and managing various administrative tasks while upholding our values of care and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
Greet residents, visitors, and families with a warm, welcoming demeanor and assist with inquiries
Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and efficient manner
Perform general administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, handling correspondence, and maintaining records
Manage resident check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all procedures are followed
Maintain a clean and organized reception area
Assist with resident requests and provide general information to families and visitors
Support office staff with administrative tasks as needed
Maintain security by following procedures for visitor check-ins and access control
Coordinate transportation requests for residents when necessary
Assist in the preparation of resident and staff communication materials
Support special events and activities by managing guest lists and guest relations
Maintain confidentiality and respect for the privacy of residents and staff at all times
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years of experience in a related position, preferably in a healthcare environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a friendly and caring approach
Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic office equipment (phones, fax, printer)
Must be reliable and willing to work weekends, as needed
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
A compassionate and empathetic attitude toward the elderly and their families
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy laws
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as needed
