CAD Technician

We are actively recruiting for an entry-level CAD Technician to join our team!

Job Title: CAD Technician Department: Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

A CAD Technician uses specialized computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D technical drawings based on designs provided by CAD Designers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CPI standards. A CAD Technician will utilize nesting software to create job packets for the factory.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Design creation: Develop 3D models using CAD software, translating sketches, design concepts, and specifications into detailed drawings.

· Technical accuracy: Ensure drawings comply with CPI standards, including dimensioning, tolerances, and material specifications.

· Collaboration: Work closely with CAD Designer to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into designs.

· Drawing modification: Make revisions to existing drawings based on design changes or project updates.

· Quality control: Review drawings for accuracy, identifying and correcting errors before finalizing.

· Project management: Contribute to project timelines by meeting deadlines and managing assigned tasks.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong working knowledge of roof curb design and construction.

· Use of interpersonal and customer service skills to maintain strong relationships with coworkers and customers.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· High functioning skill in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

· Proficient with CAD Design software, Striker, Inventor, and Microsoft Office Suite or related nesting software.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Associates degree in the field of mechatronics, drafting, engineering technology preferred.

· One to two years CAD experience preferred.

Work Environment:

· Office setting in a manufacturing environment. Temperature controlled in the office.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30am to 5:30pm, weekends as needed.

Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 based on education and experience.
