This is a role that requires a multi-disciplinary team approach to solving problems and patient challenges. "That's not my job" or "someone else can do it" is not in our team vocabulary because we are here to be of support to each other. The primary goal is to bring the best patient care and experience for our area's children.
SUMMARY: The Compounding Technician III maintains all aspects of a USP 797 and USP 800 compliant pharmacy; including managing an appropriate inventory of drugs and supplies, as well as compounding and preparing medications for administration and dispensing to patients. This is a non-exempt position.

SUMMARY: The Compounding Technician III maintains all aspects of a USP 797 and USP 800 compliant pharmacy; including managing an appropriate inventory of drugs and supplies, as well as compounding and preparing medications for administration and dispensing to patients. This is a non-exempt position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs routine administrative tasks required to keep the pharmacy running smoothly.
- Maintains proper storage and security conditions for the inventory, including, but not limited to, hazardous medications, LASA and controlled substances.
- Prepares medications with proper labeling.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas such as hoods, worktables, storage bins, and other equipment and workspaces.
- Communicates all pertinent drug and medical supply information to other members of the clinical team, including drug and equipment re-calls, shortages and/or supply issues.
- Prepares medications per provider orders according to established protocol, policy, and procedure.
- Assists in training new employees.
- Interacts with others and may have to handle several responsibilities at once.
- Stages prescription refills as directed.
- Routes prescriptions to a pharmacy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Nevada Pharmacy Technician license/registration.
- Maintains and provides proof of chemotherapy certification and all continuing education according to the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy Technician licensing requirements.
- A minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Working knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures that are applicable to work performed.
- Working knowledge of sterile environment (biohazard safety cabinet) procedures, including using proper personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting. Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions.
- Daily clinic preparation process: preparing charts, reviewing scheduling including the ability to document and communicate pertinent information.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Daily exposure to biohazard chemicals/drugs.
- Heavy lifting and the ability to transport stretcher and wheelchair patients may be required.
- Mandatory workday schedule on December 31 st , or last Friday of the year, for pharmacy inventory.
