In This Role, You Will
Set up and operate equipment to prescribed instructions to perform various unit operations such as reactions, filtrations, distillations, drying, milling, etc on raw materials and various stages of chemical processing.
Follow and document per batch sheet instructions to produce products according to all current Good Manufacturing Procedure guidelines as required.
Support all facets of the Pilot Plant to include assisting the Shift Supervisors with special project needs, production support activities, SAP entries, etc.
Support the Chemical Research and Development group for kilo lab operations as needed.
Operate with good housekeeping practices and maintain the Pilot Plant in accordance with cGMP regulations (cleaning validation, equipment logs, etc.)

Must be able to work overtime

Ability to record data accurately and legibly.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with previous experience in Pilot Plant or chemical operations or combination of education and experience
Mechanical aptitude/experience helpful
Strong math skills
Oral and written communication skills
Team player and able to work with changing priorities with excellent time management skills
Strong attention to detail

Essential Functional Duties Of The Position
- Continual walking, standing, reaching, and upper extremity use,
- Frequent bending, twisting, climbing (stairs and ladders), squatting and kneeling,
- Occasional pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with assistance,
- Work schedule is 12 hours, days or nights, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather and inside in extreme temperature variations,
- Ability to set-up equipment for proper processing,
- Clean and verify equipment and vessels,
- Perform various unit operations including, but not limited to those described above,
- Monitor, Maintain and Record observations of operating conditions, within manufacturing procedures,
- Train new employees within the work environment,
- Respond as appropriate to a plant upset and/or emergency situation,
- Ability to wear various forms of respiratory protection. Being medically fit/qualified and clean shaven are ongoing requirements.
- Ability to safely drive and operate a fork truck,
- and other various duties as assigned.
