The Cultivation Tech performs manual labor to assist in the maintenance, upkeep, stocking, and fulfillment of growing high-quality cannabis, including, but not limited to; watering, feeding, pruning, propagating, transplanting, harvesting, bucking, curing, trimming, sorting, and packaging cannabis flowers. Therole of the Cultivation Associate is to assist the Cultivation team with routine labor duties. This will be accomplished by performing various tasks in the cultivation area. Cultivation Associates are also responsible for harvesting crops and post-harvest activities such as drying, curing, destemming, and machine-trimming. The Cultivation Tech position assists the Cultivation Manager in operational duties around the curing of plants with the additional responsibility of batching, testing, and data entry. The Cultivation Tech will oversee the process of curing after the de-budding, machine-trimming, and primary drying processes of the plant material as outlined by the Curio Management Team and under the leadership of the Cultivation Manager. This position will work closely with the Cultivation team ensuring the quality of the final product is at its highest standard. The Cultivation Tech will be responsible for ensuring the Dry / Cure rooms meet the Curio Wellness standards of cleanliness and organization. This position will report to the Cultivation Manager with any findings that may put Curio Wellness at risk of falling out of compliance with state licensing and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- The Cultivation Tech will be responsible for assisting in daily activities as they pertain to maintaining the health of medical and recreational cannabis plants.
- Work time expectation : 60%-70% of the time will be spent working with plants in the grow rooms propagating, transplanting, moving, pruning, spacing, grading, watering, potting, loading plants, defoliating, harvesting, de-budding trimming, curing, and packaging the flower. 20%-30% of the time will be spent doing general duties around the nursery as they relate to the upkeep of the nursery, including 5s. 10% will be spent on continuous improvement.
- Assist in the propagation, transplanting, moving, pruning, spacing, grading, watering, applications, potting, and loading cannabis plants.
- General duties around the nursery as they relate to the upkeep of the nursery, including 5s.
- Scout for plant pests.
- Assist in Irrigation and applications schedules.
- Follow and uphold GMP standards.
- Manage medical cannabis plants, giving each individual plant the attention, it needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to execute techniques consistently
- Harvesting crops on a weekly basis.
- Drying crops and analyzing the moisture content of the flower.
- Use machinery in a safe manner to destem and machine-trim crops.
- Bottom pruning plants.
- Moving crops from vegetative areas to flowering areas.
- Mixing growing media and filling pots.
- Cleaning flower / vegetative rooms.
- Defoliating of crops.
- Daily cleaning of production work areas and facility corridors.

Education and Experience :
High school Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 2 years of experience working in a greenhouse / nursery environment or a related horticultural field; or combination of education and experience.
