“Composite Sales Engineer" entails utilizing technical expertise in composite materials to sell and consult on composite products to prospective clients, bridging the gap between engineering and sales by explaining complex technical features, identifying customer needs, and providing solutions tailored to their specific application.
Job position is Salary and Commission.
Responsibilities
- As a Composites Sales Engineer you will be responsible for all aspects of customer contact and relationships based on the fundamentals of Integrity Selling and Current, inc. core values
- In this role, you will maintain and grow sales revenue in the assigned region through new and existing accounts
- Serve as technical consultant and problem solver to customers.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding Gross Profit Margin budget, as well as maximizing profitability in assigned territory
- Meet Budget Goals, including Sales, Gross Profit Margin (GPM) and others, as set by Sales head.
- Thorough knowledge of filament winding process, including fiber types (glass, carbon, aramid), resin systems, winding patterns, and mandrel design.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
- Monitor and maintain customer satisfaction, inventory needs and cross-selling opportunities
- Communicate with customers, suppliers and the internal team on all key business aspects, including pricing, inventory, product quality, financial stability, competition, etc.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate internal staff and customers
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, suppliers and internal team by adding value as a technical resource and solutions provider
- Uncover new opportunities within assigned sales territory; convert competitive business and strategic targets, as set by Top management; increase product group share at existing accounts
- Organize, grow and protect sales in assigned sales territory; effectively manages resources and expenses to maximize ROI
- Following up with customers and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Develop a knowledge of competing products and services.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience in the Composites industry and/or industrial manufacturing environment OR a minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or customer service experience with a proven track record of sales success and/or technical skills in the composites market.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to learn internal database and software system.
- Proven experience in technical Composites sales or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of composites products and services.
- Ability to review, analyze and understand project specifications, project drawings, and project designs.
- Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques and knowledge of composites markets.
- Solid sales aptitude and the demonstrated ability to increase profits and market share.
- Strong technical aptitude: ability to learn and understand specific supplier products, processes and strategies to best serve our customers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; positive customer service focus.
- Ability to travel regionally up to 75%
