Job Summary
The person in this position reports directly to the president/CEO. It is a key leadership role that has the ability to positively influence safety, quality, profitability and production. The role requires strong leadership of a knowledgeable and tenured diverse work force.
Job position is Salary and Shipping incentive.
Responsibilities
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft sweet of software (outlook, excel, teams)
- Strong communication skills verbal and written to all levels of the organization as well as customers.
- Experience with ERP/CRM software and the ability to quickly use Sage.
- Background in manufacturing preferred, business minded a must.
- Responsible for the accurate physical inventory of raw materials weekly.
- Responsible for learning and knowing the diversity of raw materials used by the organization in 90 days.
- Responsible for leading the department regarding safety, enforcing company safety policies. This includes discipling as required Owns safety culture for team, manages safety investigations and related corrective actions. Participate on Safety Committee with meaningful contributions.
- Responsible for leading, coaching, motivating, and mentoring all direct reports within the department.
- Responsible for the overall quality of material produced by the department working in concert with the organization’s quality manager.
- Responsible for the on-time shipping of all the sheeting products manufactured by the organization.
- Responsible for daily draw’s of raw materials and managing what is kept at the plant.
- Responsible for keeping the warehouse reasonably clean and organized.
- Responsible for maintaining staffing levels congruent with work demand. This includes interviewing, discipline, annual reviews and termination.
- Responsible for producing three plus press loads per day
- Effectively communicate down time and participate in the solution for repairs of all plant equipment used within the sheeting department.
- Full responsibility for daily production for sheeters, layup, press, break down, sanding and saw, shipping.
- Responsible for hitting and exceeding daily shipping goals.
- Update sales as requested WIP.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring & execution functions which involve taking care of production, process, quality, and scale up & achieving targeted production.
- Develops and maintains detailed plans to achieve group goals, including but not limited to revenue, product gross margins, operating budgets, first-pass yields, throughput, inventory, rework, scrap, on-time delivery, employee safety, product quality and customer satisfaction goals.
- Thorough understanding of lamination processes, including resin application, press operations, and post-lamination finishing techniques.
Qualifications
Mechanically inclined and production oriented.
- Attention to detail is a must
- Mathematical ability
- Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Exhibits a professional demeanor at all times.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Open to overtime as needed
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
