Department of Defense Data Engineer III - LS99

Offset Strategic Services (OSS) is seeking a Data Engineer III. The Data Engineer will perform data science and data integration tasks supporting the Department of Defense. Defense Acquisition Data Scientists are expected to support a range of projects including, but not limited to, analysis into defense acquisitions. Candidates are expected to be knowledgeable about defense acquisitions process and familiar with the data science toolkit.
You will provide data science expertise and support to the Army and Department of Defense. Will work with team members with advanced degrees in data science, operations research, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, and other technical disciplines.  Salary Commensurate with Experience.

Location: Ft. Belvoir, VA

Responsibilities:

• Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements.

• Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.

• Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using Azure, AWS and Google technologies

• Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition.

• Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues.

• Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues.

   

Required Qualifications, Certifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Active Secret clearance required
• Bachelor's degree and 10 years relevant work experience
• 2 years' experience supporting the Department of Defense
