What are the responsibilities and job description for the Second Shift Quality Technician position at Current Openings?
Throughout the Gardner family’s ownership of Superior Trim, we have made, and continue to make, significant investments to ensure that Superior Trim has all of the appropriate technologies in-house and available to produce cost-competitive, high-quality interior and exterior trim products for medium/heavy duty trucks and other commercial vehicles that our customers expect.
Superior Trim Formed Products is looking to add a second shift quality technician who is focused on positively impacting plant quality.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Various types of visual inspection, including but not limited to receiving and in-process inspection of product.
- Channel questions and information from operators and vendors to Quality Assurance Manager
- Review and disposal of scrap product
- In-process inspection of product and assistance during receiving inspection.
- Compile and maintain data on computer database.
- Basic filing of Quality Department documentation.
- Generate various Quality Assurance Department reports, letters, etc.
- Support the corrective action (8-D) team by providing input.
- Assist with PPAP functions both from suppliers as well customers.
- Actively assist in the conception and development of ‘Continuous Improvement’ functions.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle for occasional travel between plants.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk or hear; use hands and fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. (experience, training, etc.)
- Previous experience in Quality control (Inspector/Technician) is desirable
- Previous experience with IATF -16949 preferred but not required
