Extrusion Operator

Extrusion Operators maintain our plastic recycling equipment and perform changeovers, equipment maintenance, and material sorting. From material infeed, shredding to weigh scales, Extrusion Operators help direct our recycling program. This position requires a mechanically skilled leader who has a high-attention to detail, knowledge of 5-S procedures, and ability to maintain a clean workspace. 

What You’ll Do:

• Be the shift owner, ensuring the equipment, processes, and team members are working effectively to produce high quality, recycled plastic material
• Run an efficient recycling system that meets utilization targets
• Complete the proper start up, shut down, and system maintenance on each portion of the recycling system – Shredder, Conveyors, Pelletizer, Wash Tank, Utilities
• Perform equipment changeovers and material changes following the production schedule
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on the system as opportunities arise and 
• Promptly identify and communicate recycling equipment problems as seen during equipment/system monitoring audits

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and experience
• Interest in focusing on quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale (QCDSM)
• Desire to learn 5-S procedures
• Forklift certification

Work Schedule: 2-2-3

Day Shift: 7:00AM to 7:00PM
Night Shift: 7:00PM to 7:00AM
