Head Porter (Walter Kerr Theatre)

COMPANY AND POSITION OVERVIEW

Major Broadway theatre owner-operator is seeking an Enthusiastic Porter to join our Theatre Operations team.  Direct experience with theatrical performance is not required. 

This role is a key member of our team in keeping our historic buildings in top physical condition. Job duties include maintaining cleanliness in lobbies, restrooms, backstage, dressing rooms, sidewalk in front of theatre, as well as vacuuming and mopping, removal of trash, shine brass and whatever maintenance tasks are necessary for the specific theatre. This position also interacts directly with the public during performances, so we are looking for team members who are friendly, helpful, and take initiative to assure that the theatre is looking as beautiful as possible for our guests.

You will be joining a high-energy, detail focused team that plays a central role in keeping our theatres and hit shows running smoothly. You will work inside a collaborative, respectful, and driven company that's focused on providing the best experience for theatregoers and theatre-makers on Broadway.

This is a full time, Local 32BJ Union position, with Benefits.  Training will be provided. 

JOB HOURS

Availability includes, but is not limited to:

• Mornings (Typically beginning at 8am)
• Performances (Including Evenings)
• Weekends
• Holidays

[Note:  Some weeks will include working 7 days in a row, without a day off.]
