The Camp Beech Creek summer program at Currey Ingram Academy is interested in creative, enthusiastic, and caring counselors. Our goal is for Camp Beech Creek at Currey Ingram to be a fun, active, and educational experience for all campers. We are looking for people who love working with kids, work well with peers and leadership, don't mind getting a little mud on their shoes, and want to have a part in making summer fun and also safe!

Responsibilities

Be a role model for campers and other camp counselors. Assist campers in making good choices, interacting appropriately with others and in dealing with problems.

Organize, instruct, and lead a variety of recreational games, activities and special events in the area of athletics, arts, nature, and drama, as assigned by supervisors.

Be flexible to adjust schedules throughout the summer according to weather, staffing, and other factors.

Troubleshoot potential problems between campers. Use appropriate discipline techniques.

Report all accidents to supervisor and administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary.

Attend mandatory pre-season training at the beginning of June.

Assist in daily cleaning and organizing of program spaces.
Camp Counselor Requirements:

Must be sixteen (16) years of age or older.

Experience working in camps or with children

Understanding of learning differences

Physical ability to participate in activities, run, climb, swim, and lift

Upbeat, engaging personality
Available Positions:
Camp Counselors:
Work with a partner counselor to supervise and lead a group of campers. Plan and lead games, crafts, and other camp activities. This position is focused on being the star leader and role model to your group of campers, who you will spend your day and week with! High Schoolers (16 years old and up) and college age and beyond.
Activity Specialists:
For those with a special talent in activity planning and programming, this position is focused on planning and leading specialized activities for a variety of camp groups that will visit you throughout the afternoon. Specialty Areas include: Arts and Crafts, Nature/Creek Exploration, Theater/Drama, Dance/Music, and Sports. College age and beyond.
