What are the responsibilities and job description for the (Anticipated Vacancy) Coordinator for Elementary Mathematics position at CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
- Valid Texas Administrator/Principal certification;
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher with an emphasis on teaching mathematics.
- Previous leadership experience in curriculum preferred; and
- Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating, and cooperating with others.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 220 days
SALARY:
$75,181 (IA 4)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2024-2025
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Coordinate the development, review, and update of the elementary mathematics and related curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, and scope and sequences.
- Organize and maintain curriculum guides and resources on the district’s curriculum management system.
- Collaborate with campus principals and curriculum and instruction department members in developing, implementing, and supervising elementary mathematics.
- Facilitate, plan, and support summer programs including summer school, and all additional math intervention/enrichment student programs.
- Work with teacher committees to determine priority objectives in mathematics.
- Work with appropriate instructional personnel to establish district standards for acceptable levels of student achievement in elementary mathematics.
- Obtain and use evaluate findings (including student achievement data) to examine elementary math curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
- Provide training for teachers in areas related to improving student learning.
- Plan and provide staff development for elementary teachers, administrators, and staff.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
- Participate in the purchase, use, care, and replacement of mathematics material and manipulatives.
- Assist with adoption of textbooks for elementary.
- Participate actively in mathematics professional organizations and encourage participation of their mathematics teachers.
- Supervise elementary mathematic coaches and curriculum specialist.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
