Key Responsibilities:
- Behavior Intervention: Develop and implement individual and group behavior intervention plans under the guidance of the Behavior Specialist or School Counselor, ensuring the best possible outcomes for students.
- Student Support: Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who exhibit challenging behaviors, providing targeted support to help them meet their behavioral and academic goals.
- Data Collection: Collect and analyze data on student behavior to track progress, identify patterns, and inform recommendations for adjustments to behavior plans.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop and implement effective behavior management strategies, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Crisis Management: Assist in managing and de-escalating crisis situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
- Social-Emotional Learning: Support and facilitate social-emotional learning activities, helping students develop essential skills such as coping, emotional regulation, and positive peer interactions.
- Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff on effective behavior management techniques and strategies, promoting a growth mindset and continuous improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student behavior, interventions, and progress reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff regarding behavioral progress and concerns.
- Associate degree or 48 college credit hours.
- Experience working with students with special needs and/or behavioral challenges.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and positive behavior intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
