The Exceptional Children's Teacher Assistant is responsible for providing individualized support to students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary accommodations and modifications to access their education. Key Responsibilities:
- Student Support: Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who require additional support, providing targeted interventions to help them meet their behavioral and academic goals.
- Data Collection: Collect and analyze data on student behavior, identifying trends and patterns to inform recommendations for adjustments to behavior plans.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop and implement effective behavior management strategies, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff on effective behavior management techniques and strategies, promoting a growth mindset and continuous improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student behavior, interventions, and progress reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff regarding behavioral progress and concerns.
- Associate degree or 48 college credit hours.
- Experience working with students with special needs and/or behavioral challenges.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and positive behavior intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
