JCPC Coordinator
Term: Part-time 10-month position
Location: Currituck County High School
Reports to: Administrative Services Coordinator
Purpose: To prevent initial or juvenile delinquency and improve school performance of school-aged youth.
As a JCPC Coordinator, you will be employed part-time (10 months) to provide services in collaboration with the school counselor, school social worker, school administration, as well as the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Court Services, parents, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a four-year degree in Human Service or related field
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, program coordination, and computer skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct all program activities to promote academic, career, and social development of students in the program
- Conduct individual and applicable group social/life skills training using an evidence-based curriculum to address student behavioral issues and improve academic and behavioral outcomes
- Provide reasonable case management for participants to ensure adherence to the individual service plan and attainment of measurable objectives
- Develop individual service plan goals with clients to address school performance and/or behavioral issues
- Evaluate student progress on a weekly basis through school visits and individual/group sessions
- Conduct home visits with parents/guardians as appropriate to address student academic and behavioral concerns
- Maintain career resources and conduct career awareness activities as appropriate
- Maintain adequate documentation of services provided and adhere to the requirements of JCPC policy for service delivery and confidential files content
- Collaborate with school officials to maintain effective service delivery and receive referrals from DJJ as well as principals and assistant principals as space allows
- Consult with principals and support staff in program development and maintenance, as well as consult with teachers and school counselors regarding student school performance and progress
- Monitor student school performance, attendance, and discipline, and report client progress to referring court counselors
- Responsible for program development and accountability measures, and carry out program activities in accordance with program goals and objectives
- Maintain client files, NCALLIES submissions, and submit monthly reports, and attend Juvenile Crime Prevention Council meetings to report program progress
- Conduct six-month evaluations according to achievement of program measurable objectives, and confer with school officials and court counselors based on data in continued program development efforts
- Adhere to program budget and work with Program Manager to ensure adequate expenditure of JCPC funding, and attend routine professional development activities to improve knowledge, program practices, and skills
- Responsible for annual grant-writing efforts to include the Program Agreement and any necessary budget amendments in coordination with the Program Manager
Performance of this position will be evaluated twice annually by the Currituck County School District.
