What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Director position at Currituck County?
JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs responsible supervisory and personnel management work. Plans, directs and implements County policies and procedures related to all phases of human resource programs and activities to include organizational planning and development, recruitment, selection, position classification, compensation, indoctrination and training, employee relations and employee benefits administration. Interprets existing personnel policies and develops new personnel ordinances, policies and procedures. Addresses employee complaints or concerns and acts as liaison to outside organizations and agencies involved in County personnel matters. Prepares salary and benefits portion of the County’s annual budget. Supervises Human Resources Department personnel. Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including computers, typewriters, fax machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Light Work usually requires walking, standing and sitting to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
