Associate Lecturer, Geospatial Analysis
The Department of Natural Sciences & Mathematics is accepting applications for part-time Associate Lecturers that can teach Geospatial Analysis, a required course in our Environmental Science Program. The Associate Lecturer will teach in-person in our undergraduate day program on our Milton campus. Screening and review of candidate application materials will begin immediately and will be ongoing.
Course Description : Geospatial analysis examines a range of data from the geographical record including aerial photographs, GIS data, the cartographic record (which includes old maps, new maps, specialist maps such as soil and geology maps), satellite data, soil analysis and other environmental samples. This course will be an introduction to the types of data and methods used by Geospatial analysts with a focus on developing GIS skills.
This course meets Tuesday / Thursday 10 : 00 AM -11 : 15 AM
Part-time Associate Lecturers are expected to work collaboratively with faculty in the department to ensure curricular learning outcomes are met and assessed. Associate Lectures must use the College's learning management system, Canvas, to post syllabus, assignments, grades and other materials to communicate with students. In person office hours are expected.
Job Requirements :
Minimum Qualifications :
A Master's degree and significant experience in Geospatial Analysis.
The department is seeking candidates with a history of effective teaching, including experience using active learning techniques.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with Canvas LMS a plus.
