Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma. Vocational training and on-the-job experience preferred. Will need to complete 6H training and pass 6H test.
Skill(s): Familiar with HVLP/Pressure Pot spray systems, basic paint and prep procedures, ability to apply seam sealer and decals, knowledge of air/hand tools, and basic understanding blasting.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in related positions normally required.
General Responsibilities
1. Responsible for preparing and painting freight cars, locomotives and parts. This could include blasting, prepping, caulking, interior coating and exterior painting.
2. Maintains reliable transportation.
3. Ability to work at heights, inside confined spaces, and wear respiratory protection, etc.
4. Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free from harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
Essential Duties
1. Performs a variety of duties to support the paint.
a. Keeping up with new painting, prepping, and blasting procedures.
b. Completing work according to directions or set work schedule and status.
c. Keeping shop and equipment orderly, clean, and safe.
2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient service.
3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
4. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule.
5. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, within given time frames and within established policy.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
