What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Railcar Repair Technician position at Curry Rail Services?
*Regional travel required, home every weekend*
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient mechanical skills; visual and auditory skills; ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, push/pull up to 75 lbs., lift up to 100 lbs. Driver’s license is required for this position.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience in railcar repair required.
General Responsibilities
Works safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks
Coordinates and completes all railcar repairs and maintenance.
Interprets job work orders and follows blueprints / schematics to perform required repairs.
Utilizes basic mechanical skills and builds knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut and gouge.
Essential Duties
Notifies of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.
Follows all safety rules, keeps work area clean and complies with all Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
Ensure FRA, AAR and customer quality standards are met.
Completes any other duties as assigned in order to complete the task.
Ancillary Duties
1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
