Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Bachelors or Associates Degree in Business Administration preferred.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; fundamental knowledge of the principles of data collection, analysis and acquisition guidelines; ability to identify critical disparities and/or redundancies in legal documentation and report compliance concerns, and seek and take direction on moderately complex issues, proficient PC skills, including Internet and Microsoft Office Suite; requires continuous visual concentration and manual dexterity to operate PC; minor lifting and carrying, not likely to exceed fifty pounds;
Experience: 2-7 years of relevant work experience in inventory control, purchasing, manufacturing, or related field required. Experience in automotive/truck components, raw material (i.e. Steel, Aluminum) and/or manufacturing processes preferred.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for negotiating non-complex contracts, tracking orders and maintaining inventory of purchased components. This individual will be monitoring components as they are produced or received and making sure that they are stored in the proper locations. This individual should possess the ability to work well with both management and shop floor employees to ensure that materials are readily available for production and are charged to the correct jobs/accounts. Must have an acute attention to detail to ensure that purchased parts are ordered in a timely manner while monitoring lead times, quantities, pricing, etc. Will be expected to keep employees who are involved in the manufacturing process supplied with the necessary components. Will also be responsible for the shipping and tracking of parts to various Curry Supply and/or partner locations.
Essential Duties
1. Performs a variety of duties in support of inventory control and the company supply chain:
a. Communicates, forecasts, and manages inventory with shop employees and management.
b. Supplies needed components to ensure production moves smoothly.
c. Allocates parts as needed to ensure that components are placed in their proper places.
2. Assists with necessary shipping and receiving processes.
3. Maintains fundamental knowledge of related policies and procedures and answers general inquiries regarding procedural guidelines, contract statuses, approvals and supporting documentation.
4. Assists in the review and development of non-complex contract specification, bid documents and negotiation strategies.
5. Tracks contract/procurement schedules and time constraints to ensure compliance, reviews and analyzes related financial/budgetary items, generates required and ad hoc reports, identifies and reports disparities and researches relevant information.
6. Assists in performing price/cost analysis
7. Performs basic contract administration tasks
8. Purchases necessary parts from various vendors to ensure jobs are assembled as per the job quote.
9. Ensures that purchased parts follow the purchasing strategy to maintain a lean manufacturing environment.
10. Tracks purchased parts from order date through receiving.
11. May participate in cross-functional workgroups to address technical or systems related matters related to procurement, sourcing and contracts.
12. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
13. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
14. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
15. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
Ancillary Duties
1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
2. May require extended work hours
3. Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
