THIS ROLE:
Under general supervision, the steward will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining cleanliness of our vessels. In addition to this, the steward will also be responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels for all cleaning related supplies. They will be responsible for maintaining a guest log on who is staying onboard our vessels and for how long. The space that this individual will be responsible for is roughly 5,000 square feet and two stories.
Expected Schedule:
Monday – Friday from 10AM PST – 7PM PST
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Cooking
- Making fresh meals for guests of Two Harbors Inn (two meals per day).
Shopping:
- Groceries (food and drink products both as snacks and raw product to cook with).
- Cleaning products (paper towels, cleaner spray, sponges, etc.)
Stocking & Organization:
- Organization of any products that are bought for the residence.
- Putting cleaning supplies in their own area
- Washing, drying, and putting away dishes
- Putting away groceries
- Keeping things organized while also making sure that supplies are still easily accessible to the residents of the quarters.
Management:
- Maintain a guest log in Helm for eleven rooms. This includes communicating stay details with staff and ensuring rooms are cleaned and ready for new guests in a timely manner.
Cleaning:
- Ensuring the living quarters are in a clean state. Every part where a resident has access to needs to be regularly cleaned. Bedrooms and kitchen all need to be regularly cleaned and in a livable state. This includes:
- Sweeping/Mopping the floor.
- Making sure surfaces are clean and sanitized.
- Cleaning windows.
- Washing, drying, and putting away dishes.
WHO YOU ARE:
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of housekeeping experience
- Must be organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task, prioritize workloads, and work in a fast- paced environment.
- Be able to communicate effectively; expected to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, personnel, subcontractors, outside agencies, etc.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally while participating in a team environment.
- Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment.
Physical Aptitudes
- Must be physically able to safely transit onboard vessels at the dock.
- Must be comfortable working on the water and in changing climates.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively.
