Job Description : Summer InternThe Summer Intern will gain hands-on experience in heavy highway and civil construction by working alongside experienced professionals in the field and office. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about project management, site supervision, estimating, and construction operations while assisting with real-world projects.Ideal candidates are motivated, eager to learn, and interested in pursuing a career in construction. This role is designed to provide valuable industry exposure and practical experience to supplement academic coursework.Key Responsibilities :
- Assist project managers and superintendents in daily construction activities.
- Observe and participate in site inspections, surveying, and quality control checks.
- Learn about heavy equipment operations and earthwork processes.
- Monitor and document job site progress through daily reports, photos, and logs.
- Support safety compliance efforts, including attending safety meetings and conducting field audits.
- Help prepare submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
- Assist in cost tracking, material procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
- Participate in project scheduling and learn how to use construction software.
- Attend project meetings and gain exposure to client and subcontractor interactions.Qualifications :
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in heavy civil and highway construction.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
